Little Moments
Oil, oil stick, and watercolor on canvas, 20 x 24 in
Little Moments was created in the shared space of motherhood and making—alongside my toddler and infant, in a rhythm of constant interruption. What began without intention became a reflection of how motherhood unfolds in fragments: small pockets of time between snacks, soothing, nap time, and the endless needs of little ones.
Softer, fluid areas represent moments of peace and progress, while bold texture and movement speak to frustration, overstimulation, and the longing to fully disappear into the work. Guided by intuitive color and emotion, this piece explores the balance between chaos and calm—the yin and yang of motherhood and creativity.
